I am a planetary cartographer and a historian of lunar and planetary exploration. My earlier work was on mapping asteroids and other non-spherical objects. More recently I have worked on the history of lunar and planetary mapping and a detailed record of exploration of the Moon and Mars. I have been involved in searches for crashed or landed spacecraft on the Moon and Mars, notably impacts sites of Chang'e 1, SMART-1 and Apollo lunar module upper stages.
