The Western Space community

The Institute for Earth & Space Exploration (Western Space) is an interdisciplinary research and training organization supported by a diverse group of researchers from five faculties: Science, Engineering, Social Science, Law, and the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry.

Our graduate program has the largest number of MSc and PhD candidates in Planetary Science in Canada, as well as a strong group of Post-Doctoral Fellows and Research Associates.

Our community extends to include associate and adjunct faculty from other academic institutions, industry, and government, effectively bridging sectors and geography. This collaboration reinforces Western Space’s position as a leader in planetary science and exploration research and training in Canada.
